Good For You Between the Lines Book 3 edition by Tammara Webber Literature Fiction eBooks

I have read a TON of movie star romances and this is far and away the best. I've searched in vain for one that even comes close. There are so many good things that it's hard to list them all, but the biggest one is this: both characters change in very believable and touching ways. They don't have insta-love or insta-personality transformation. The author does a great job of not portraying them as black and white -- Reid isn't just a spoiled Hollywood actor and Dori isn't just a do-gooder (although that's how they see each other at first). The way they transform and come to love each other is beautiful and poignant. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Good For You Between the Lines Book 3 edition by Tammara Webber Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

**Although there are no spoilers for GOOD FOR YOU, there are spoilers if you have not read BETWEEN THE LINES and WHERE YOU ARE.**

So....Tammara Webber did it. She made me, against all odds, love Reid Alexander. Reid amused me in BETWEEN THE LINES. He was a jerk, yes, but when it came down to the wire, he was no match for Graham when it came to winning Emma's heart. I was not amused with Reid in WHERE YOU ARE. The way he actively schemed with Brooke to split Emma and Graham up? Uh uh. Although he redeemed himself in a small way at the end, I just didn't know how I would take to him in GOOD FOR YOU.

I knew I would love the book because, HELLO?, Tammara Webber is a genius author. I just didn't know how I could ever move on. But Webber took the egocentric, reckless, dangerous Reid and made him into something more. You get to see, in a way, how Reid became the way he is. Reid lives in a dysfunctional family. It's all he knows. His mother is an alcoholic, his father is emotionally distant. He hasn't lived with any type of boundary in five years and he's only nineteen. That's a sure recipe for disaster. Add to that a lavish lifestyle in which people live to cater your every whim, it's not wonder Reid is a Class A jerk.

Then, Reid meets Dori. Dori is as selfless as they come. The daughter of a pastor and a nurse, she has been raised to serve those in need. Dori is generous, kind, respectful, loving. She is basically the classic good girl. Dori also happens to be hiding a lot about herself from everyone she knows.

When Dori meets Reid, it's not pretty. They don't know each other, but they do know enough to write the other off. But day by day, as Reid proves himself at the job site, and as Dori lets down her guard, they discover that maybe, they could be good for one another.

I really don't know what I can say about this book without being stupid. I loved it like crazy. The way Tammara portrayed these characters, fiery and passionate one moment, fragile and unsure the next, it made me dizzy with happiness. The characters are fully fleshed, their stories, the painful journeys, are heart breaking and raw. GOOD FOR YOU was an emotionally draining yet beautifully uplifting book that I could not have enjoyed more.

Favorite Quote

"There's something uncontaminated about her, and I don't even mean sexually or whatever. I mean the way she is, at her core. Like when you wake up and the world has been blanketed by snow overnight, and not a single footstep or tire track has spoiled the untouched perfection of it. (ebook, 46%)

" 'When you tell me to be good, it makes me want to be good,' I say, hearing the undisguised desire in my voice. I run my fingers through the hair at her temples, taking her face between my palms, and she doesn't move. 'It also makes me want to be very, very bad.' And then I kiss her." (ebook, 50%)
Good For You, the third novel in the Between the Lines series, was fabulous! Technically, this novel could be read as a stand-alone novel, but I strongly recommend reading the complete series. In order to fully appreciate Good For You, you need to read Reid's entire journey from the beginning. This series is perfect for mature young adults. Be advised there are some scenes that involve drinking, drugs and sex.

I have zero complaints about this novel. The pace was realistic, the character's journeys were believable, and the romance was outstanding - it's sweet and sexy. I laughed out loud at Dori and Reid's snarky banter, and my eyes watered during a few unexpected emotional scenes. Tammara Webber's honest and heartfelt writing brought out all of the emotions in me.

I LOVED Dori's character. In the beginning of the novel, readers are introduced to Dori -the sweet, compassionate girl who fits neatly into everyone's "good girl" stereotype. She spends her time volunteering at her church, Habit for Humanity, and other organizations, she plans on becoming a social worker and making a difference in the world, and she doesn't cuss. Well, not unless you count Fudge! and Popsicle! Throughout the novel, Dori remains that sweet, compassionate girl; however, readers are introduced to a side of Dori that doesn't fit so perfectly into that "good girl" box. Dori became more lifelike as I learned more about her. She wasn't "perfect". She was a "good" person, but she had her shortcomings and struggles just like everyone else. I think young adults will be able to relate to her and her outlook on life.

Reid - Congratulations! You finally did it! You finally made me love to love you! )

The Between the Lines series has been Reid's journey. He started off as a shallow, egotistical man whore and he morphed into a respectable, caring, and mature person. At the end of this novel, he was still Reid; he was just a better version of himself. I really enjoyed watching his character grow and mature. It's been a fantastic journey.

I knew that Emma and Graham were going to be absent from Good For You before I began this novel. I have a feeling that some people might be disappointed by their absence, but in my opinion, it was necessary. 1) Reid's redemption needed an entire novel to be realistic. Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure that he could redeem himself in this short amount of time, but Tammara Webber pulled it off wonderfully. 2) Emma and Graham already got their happy ending. On one of Tammara Webber's blog post, she said, "If there's no conflict, there's no story." In order to truly bring Emma and Graham back, Tammara Webber would have had to drag them through the mud again. Honestly, I would much rather think about them living happily ever after in their NYC apartment then to have seen this happen to them. 3) Reid and Dori were extremely entertaining and worthy of their own story!

I will admit that when I first finished this novel I was a little bummed that there wasn't an epilogue. I would have liked to have seen a glimpse of Graham, Emma, Reid, and Dori in the future - maybe all running into each at an awards show or something three or four years down the road. However, I just looked at Tammara Webber's blogspot and saw that she is thinking about a fourth and final installment in the BTL series. I'll take a fourth installment over an epilogue any day! Personally, I would really like to see Brooke get her own happy ending. I am not sure where Webber plans to go with this possible installment, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for Brooke.

I gave Good For You by Tammara Webber 5 STARS. I've loved every novel in the Between the Lines series, and I look forward to reading more novels by Tammara Webber in the future -hopefully that includes one more Between the Lines novel ;) She is an extremely talented author, and I expect many more wonderful things from her in the future, so keep your eyes open!

-XOXO
