I am an avid fantasy reader and also a bit older than the target audience. Every once and a while I like to read a series that is aimed at a younger audience to have a lighter read. This whole series has been great and I have breezed right through it. There are good characters, the world setting and ideas are easy to grasp and the names are pronounceable. The only changes I would like to see are more details on the magic side. How do all the spells work, more examples and explanations rather than it just happened etc... Overall worth reading.

To the author if you read this: on your blog it says book 4 should be out. I cannot locate it, do you know when the kindle edition might be released?? Oh, and keep up the good work!

An ok series, coming of age in a school of magic . The Hero sometimes frustrates you, but perhaps that is more of a function of beig older myself. Maybe better for teenagers, who rather not think too much.
I have really enjoyed this series great character development the only this is that I wish they were a bit longer mabey with some filler like holidays or a place where the buy things like a bazaar for magic items
awesome, can't wait for the next one. I enjoyed them all so much, I finished one and downloaded the next straight away.

I don't know why but I am often captivated by arena/battle/competition books. This contains all 3 and is a good connector for the next story since it finally reveals a major conflict for the protagonist. Looking forward to the way this story is developing.
So I foolishly bought the third instalment after reading the other 2 in an hour or so. I can't believe they call it a book. I had hoped for better. The books are barely longer than the sample and the plot doesn't get better.....
